What do we want from it?

So, we got chatting today about: well everything really, so stop me if I'm talking rubbish, but here goes.

This day, our wedding day, its a journey right and its going to happen so fast. The thought then arises how are we going to remember everthing that happens that day, what is going to jog our memories 50 years down the line so that we can say with certainty that that is what we were feeling at that moment in time.

This then leads to the fact, that one picture says a million words. So, we need a photographic document (a totally to official sounding word) of everything that is going to happen that day. I'm talking about the posed photo's that are inevitably going to happen that day. I'm looking more at those private moments, those deep in thought moments that really show the emotions of the day.

Our wedding day is an epic day in our lives, its the day when two souls are joined in union, its the day when two families, who would probably never have encountered one another, if it was not for us, are joined together. All these factors lead to the conclusion that besides the obvious wedding day events, that this is a day to be remembered, to be singled out amongst all the other glorious days in our lives. The question is how do you capture these moments in a fashion that will forever tell the tale of what is going to occur on the 15th May.

This now leads to the next big appointment that has to happen, the photgrapher.

There we go, we know what we need to do, So do it baby

Where we stand now

Well, a-lot has happened. Firstly the date has moved from the 8th May to the 15th May. Why, so that no one has to make any type of choices about where they want to be and because we do not want to miss out on a party. Secondly the dress has been decided on and the material has been bought - Mariki, baie baie dankie vir al die ondersteuning, wysheid en liefde. We have possibly found a person who will bind us into this union.

Its amazing how once the decision has been made the detail follows, I think the turning point came for me when i saw myself standing there infront of the mirror in full wedding attire (ok a lot of detail still needs to be added, but the vision is there), the full force of the thought sunk in and now I know that this is a reality. For Pierre this became a reality when he proposed, knowing at that moment that everything would fall into place.

So the journey continues......................................

Vic Falls, The Boma Restuarant, an African feast to say the least. Dancing, drumming and drinking - Yay. This was a well deserved feast, we had paddled (semi drowned) all the way through 18 rapids on the Zambezi, needless to say the joy at being alive and the thirst that seemed unsatifiable, kept us going late into the night.

its confirmed!! the date is the 8th of May!! Whoop Whoop!
So maybe we should start at the beginning, where this all came from. Once upon a wild time we were both in Zanzibar (!chances). My father (Nic) introduces us. Saying to Pierre "I would like you to meet my daughter". From there what followed was one sizzeling holiday romance. Except this romance never ended. We continued once we had both returned to Jo'burg. 2 years after that chance meeting Pierre proposed, confirming what we had both known in our hearts from the very beginning. We are willing to be together to the very end, to share and love all the pleasures and upsets that the world might throw our way, a companion that really speakes your language, we are the luckiest people alive.
